“Creativity
isn’t something
’I do’ as such, but perhaps more accurately
described
as who ’I am’.
I
cannot distinguish between the two and split one off from the other,
because a life without creativity wouldn’t feel like
a life at all.
Being
in my studio is soul food, and knowing that the art I produce brings
delight to a child, absolutely completes that
sense of
nourishment”.

Clare Nicholson
Clare
has a Bachelor of
Visual Arts with honours, and is a multi award-winning artist living in
Mullumbimby - a small rural town close to Australia’s most
easterly point, Byron Bay. Her professional art practice is central to
her life and the acquiring and perfecting of artistic skills has been
an intrinsic lifetime endeavour.
Her love
of free spirited
horses was sown as a child growing up in England, and has remained
strong. Much of her inspiration comes from nineteenth century French
horse painter and sculptor Rosa Bonheur, who received international
acclaim with her anatomically correct huge paintings of horses, and
subsequent decoration with the prestigious Legion d' Honneur.
